FYI Microsoft still seems to be hiring, and they've got a website, etc. If you're interested, they've got a way to flag applications that are recommended by someone in the company--my hubby, who's a long-time friend of our mutual friend Colin, works there and could talk to you more about this. Also, google and others are in town and also looking to hire.
