I'm not really a pessimist.  I'm a frustrated optimist.  To whit, I believe in Murphy's Law - and  I constantly wish I didn't.  I also wish it didn't seem so damned applicable to the way life works.

I'm sure things aren't as bad as they seem, but in the thick of things, it's hard to be optimistic.
