This makes me depressed. Someone does not understand how books work.
They're not interchangeable!
Also, it has annoyed the hell out of me in the past when people have given me books as a present because they think I should read them. They'd have been better off lending me their copy of the book, and then buying me something that I genuinely wanted - rather than spending money on a book that I've tried to read over and over again but just have no interest in, and now feel faintly resentful about.
