Here is my update.
My update is good.
Update, update, update.
My office now sounds like the flightline of an aircraft carrier. There's a new Cisco 6513 switch to go along with the 2 Cisco 5500s that were already here.
I get headaches and my neck and eyes hurt.
OSHA should become my new friend.

I hate when I have to work at the console in our server room. It's so fricken cold in there! And it was really just a large storage closet, so the architecture was not reinforced for the amount of weight. I'm waiting for the day when it all crashes down to the first floor.

My office was originally a secondary server room, and a projection room for a big lecture hall. It had it's own A/C, was already painted black, and had minimal traffic, so I could turn the lights off without getting too much grief.
Then someone needed access to the rack (cabling, so they couldn't just use a remote console) so the lights had to go back on, and then it was the place to store all the munchies, and then a meeting location, etc.
So my wonderfully calm and isolated 'cave' became the 'in place' to be on campus.
Bastards. ;)
Now of course, I keep getting visitors asking about my new digs. Luckily it's a bit smaller (less than half the size of my old office space) so I'm not likely to hold meetings here.
