I think I now know what happened. A second copy arrived today, so I think I must have pre-ordered a copy but then forgotten. That must have been the one that arrived yesterday (but that I never received a dispatched notification for), and the one that arrived today must have been the one that I ordered yesterday. I'm just about to check my orders on Amazon's website to confirm my hypothesis.

It's not a disaster, as Amazon's price was £10 per copy compared to a cover price of £20, and I have a friend who I'm sure will be glad to be given my spare copy.
