Any recommendations for a good CPA who does tax returns, tax advising, etc. in SF?

Thanks!

She's in San Mateo, but you only need to visit her once or twice at most and she's close to the freeway. She's awesome, very responsive and proactive, very on top of tax changes (she specializes in only tax, not regular financial planning, although she help me set up my retirement account), good at helping you come up with deductions and adjustments. The downside? She rambles a bit. But this will be my third year using her. She's particularly good for unusual tax situations because of her specialty, but she'll happily do the normal stuff too.

She did Patri's and Darrell's taxes last year, on my recommendation. Both reported back their satisfaction. :)

Unless you've got some terribly complicated things going, like you sold an asset that make passive income (like rental property), you closed a business, or you started a business that buys depreciable property or did some wacky investment stuff, most any tax professional (even H&R Block or Jackson Hewitt) can do that without any difficulty, and do a good job.

Of course if you plan on doing any wacky stuff in the near future, a good tax advisor would be handy to have.

Hi there!

Yeah, no wackiness this year, unless selling a house counts, but I presume that's pretty straightforward. But stuff might get more complicated in future years, so it'd be nice to have someone more specialized if they're not crazy expensive.
