Movie Review time,...
Rented and Watched Aeon Flux a few nights ago,..
My over all impression,....Very well done,. For anyone who has seen the Original Cartoon series on Luiquid Television on the Old MTV Network; I would have to say, the adaptation of it to a Real Time Movie format was a success.
I was concerned because there's just some shots in Animation that can't be duplicated on the "Big Screen" However, It seemed to work, and work well. They captured Aeon's Very Unique fighting style along with her Percpicacity (I've been waiting for years to use the word,...LOL.)
The story lacked a little in the development arena. I thought the casting was done adequately. Although I think I would have Cast differently than Charlize Theron as the Heroine. Also, an intresting choice For Trevor Goodchild (Antagonist Turned Martyr/Hero of the film) There was some quality issue with the accuracy Of Trevor's Behaviour, which I thought could have been improved upon. Those of us who have seen the Cartoon know that there was almost never a Selfless Moment in Trevor's Life unless it involved Aeon and 9 times out of 10 there was also a self-serving agenda Behind the Noble Act.
In An Odd Plot Twist, Jhonny Lee-Miller Co-Star's As Oren Goodchild Trevor's Brother. Not an un-welcome sight,. As it's been a while since I've seen him in anything really Major Lately.
So, I would have to say that I thuroughly enjoyed the film. Wish I had cought it in Theaters. I think it had a very limited run,. That and I don't get out to the movies all that much.
Very Worth the $1.99 Price to Rent If you're up for some Sci-fi Thriller type action.
Aeon Flux Escapes with a PG-13 Rating,. Cutting out all the Intense Sexuality as seen in the Animated Series. Leaving Just a story behind with just enough plot to string together the Special effects sequences.
Good to the last drop though. Will Probably rent it again, If not buy it when the opprotunity happens.
