Good on you for saying this, and being resolute. Your own health has to always come first, and that often means making very firm boundaries. I'm glad you've asked for help with this particular boundary--I know how hard it is for you.

You are right that "I'm never going to drink again, ever" isn't the best way to go about it. "I'm not going to drink today" seems to work better for a lot of people.

It is also not wise to think of "everyone else" or "the rest of society" and especially "the good people" as being able to say when. The truth is that there are plenty of good, fine people who over-drink, for one reason or another. Not all of them are alcoholics. It's a habit, and habits can be broken.

Strength and honor (and ginger ale) to you. You can do it.

Thank you for being so honest and clear. It is very clear to me what it is that you want from me and from others and you completely have it. If I ever see anyone asking you multiple times then it is a disrespect thing. THey are not respecting your decision and I'll totally jump in. Other than that I'm not to concern myself. Yeah,.

Although the amazing thing is hard to remember some times,.

I will say this,.....The Hardest time is going to possibly happen tonight, when elenbarathi and I go to the Shire Social. This will be the first time turning it down, when offered.

I'm a little nervous.

I'll keep your words and praise close to my heart. I think that and with the help of 'Elen' I'll be able to pull through and Turn down that Drink when it's offered.
