Over the past couple of nights I have finally gotten out to watching a couple of DVDs that I rented over the weekend. Both "Sweeney Todd" and "There Will Be Blood" had their merits but turned out to be poor viewing choices for me at the moment. Yesterday was another slow day at work and once again they offered to let people leave early. This time they sent out the message three hours before the end of my shift so I jumped at the opportunity! Feels Like Summer
Work was slow today. They sent out an e-mail fifteen minutes before I was scheduled to leave asking if anyone wanted to go home early. I grumbled a bit at this since, by the time I would have taken to confirm approval, it would have already been time to go. Riding High
I had an exhausting but fun day yesterday and had planned to sleep in this morning but found myself too restless to just lay there. That is probably just as well. The extra hours of wakefulness gave me a chance to do a more-thorough-than-usual job of cleaning my apartment in anticipation of my parent's visit at noon. I feel a bit rundown today. I am not sure if it is from enduring a weekend of cold and murky weather that has continued into the week. I have slept well enough lately so it seems like the only factor that could have left my energy and spirits drained. History Rocks
Lately, I have been reading the book 1776 by David McCullough. To be honest, for a history book, it is quite absorbing and I have been having trouble putting it down, even to go to bed to catch up on much needed sleep during the week. Vacation Thoughts
Since (probably) achieving my goals last month, I have started to think more about my vacation plans for this year. I was checking the planner at work and see that I could conceivably take three weeks off with just the time that I have accrued so far. Three Movies
Well, I managed to reach the "safety zone" with my monthly job quotas so I can afford to relax a bit. I rented out three movies to watch over the weekend. I enjoyed watching all three but also had some complaints in regard to them. The best of the three, in my opinion, was the Oscar nominated period drama Atonement which I watched last night. Even though it means getting up even earlier, I am loving the time change for giving me more daylight hours in the evening. It feels good to be home. I was initially planning on going out this evening but the rainy conditions made this option less desirable for me.
