It first happened when they were 3, both kids were oblivious in what they were doing. Two kids in a fish and monkey styled diapers both sprawled on a playing mat, laughing their little heads off.
The little five year old with a monkey print shirt suddenly started crying. Their mothers are outside making some munchies so it's his play-friend to solve the problem. Little boy with a fish print shirt didn't know what to do, he was close to bursting in to tears too because he cannot calm his friend down. However, in his small mind he remembered the times when his mommy feeds him some strawberry milk.
With his little legs, he stood up and wobbly walked towards his back-pack. There he found a carton of strawberry milk, hurriedly, he walked back to his friend. He popped the straw and pushed the drink towards the crying boy.
"Don't cry now Hyukkie, okay?" The latter said. "See, I gave you my favorite drink."
Eunhyuk nodded, taking another sip of milk before handing it to his friend. "Thank you Hae, you can have a sip too."
Donghae beamed him his toothiest smile, taking the milk into his hands.

The second time it happened was when Donghae and Eunhyuk were at Dairy Queen waiting for their dates. It has been an hour already and their dates still hasn't arrived.
"Hae, I think they stood us up." Eunhyuk mumbled, taking a sip of his milkshake.
Donghae propped his elbow on the counter. "I know, I mean, I'm good looking enough so girls tend to chase me but you, well it's a different case so I see why they stood us up."
Eunhyuk choked on his drink. "A..ass, fuck you."
The latter smiled. "I'm just kidding, you're not as good looking as me but still good looking."
"Thanks." Eunhyuk replied before taking another sip.
"Man, you're the slowest person ever to drink milkshakes." Donghae burst. "We've been here for an hour and you're not even half way empty through your drink."
The person behind the counter signaled Donghae to keep it down or else they'd be ask to leave the place.
"Hae, it's strawberry milkshake, the drink of gods, it must be savored." Eunhyuk replied licking his lips that was covered with the drink.
Donghae pulled the glass out of the latter's grasp and sipped the whole drink empty.
"Donghae!"
"Brain freeze!"
Donghae stood up from his chair and clutched his head. "Hyuk it hurts!"
"Karma." Eunhyuk smirked. "Come on, sit down and we'll go home after it fades away."

The third time it happened was during their senior year at college. It was their last school dance and Donghae was dancing with his current girlfriend.
2 weeks before the dance
"Hyuk, I have something to say." Donghae said, pulling Eunhyuk on his bed.
"Mhm?"
"I asked Jessica out." Donghae murmured. "And she said yes."
"Dude that's awesome!" Eunhyuk jumped. "Why do you look so sad?"
"What about you." Donghae's voice cracked. "You like Tiffany too but I took her from you so it doesn't feel right yet it still feels right."
Eunhyuk tapped Donghae's head to look at him. "I don't like her anymore."
Donghae hugged his best friend. "Hyukkie, you are the best person in the whole entire world."
Eunhyuk hugged tighter. "Or maybe I'm just not into girls anymore." He said to himself.
dance
Eunhyuk who was watching his best friend from afar couldn't stand being inside the room anymore. He declined girls who asked him for a dance because he just couldn't bring his feet to move so he decided to sit with his friends.
It was past midnight when the dance ended. He was suppose to look for Donghae but he remembered that his best friend would be spending the night with Jessica. What could they be doing right now, he thought.
"No, Hyukie, don't think perverted thought, no, Hae's not like that." He rumbled. "Damn Kangin hyung for giving me those videos."
Eunhyuk was walking back to his room when he saw Jessica outside his door.
"Oh, aren't you suppose to be with Donghae right now." Eunhyuk asked.
"Mhm, yeah but that doesn't mean I cannot go walking around." Jessica replied, advancing towards the latter.
"Uh... where's Donghae." Eunhyuk said backing off of Jessica.
"I don't know, he said something about finding you." Jessica smiled caressing Eunhyuk's face . "And he also told me that you fancied me before. You know Hyukkie, I was just using Donghae to get to you, I didn't really liked that friend of yours, he's too clingy."
Eunhyuk slapped Jessica's hands. "I don't like you anymore and don't you dare use Donghae."
"Too bad." Jessica replied before crushing her lips on Eunhyuk's.
Donghae rushed back to the gym to find Eunhyuk, he forgot to tell his best friend that he'd be leaving first. When he arrived at the gym he found no one in there. He must be back in his room, might as well say good night to him. He thought.
Humming his way back tonight must be one of the best nights of his life, he got to kiss his girlfriends and soon he'll be leaving school, when he rounded the corner to Eunhyuk's room he wasn't really expecting to find his best friend kissing his girlfriend.
Donghae pried Jessica off of Eunhyuk's hold and punched the latter on the face.
"How could you." Donghae spat. "I thought you don't like her anymore?"
"Hae, lis-"
"No, fuck you. What kind of best friend are you!" Donghae replied. "How can you even do this to me."
"Hae, listen to me." Eunhyuk begged. "Listen to me."
"Donghae let's just go." Jessica said, tugging Donghae out of Eunhyuk's sight.
"We're no longer best friends, Eunhyuk." Donghae said. "I don't know you anymore."
That night Eunhyuk cried like there's no tomorrow, weeks passed, months, graduation, years and he hasn't talked to Donghae ever since.
~
10 years passed, Eunhyuk, now a freelancer if living his life off pretty well. He has enough money for himself, perfect house, perfect friends, what more can he ask for?
"Man, you need a lover." Kyuhyun, his co-worker said.
"Why should I?" He replied.
"Because you're life is boring." The latter rumbled. "You go to work, home, work, home, man you need to get laid."
"Well too bad, I like it that way!" Eunhyuk burst. "I'm going to Min's cafe."
Kyuhyun nodded after Eunhyuk.
~
Eunhyuk arrived Yokoshiro Cafe. Smiling to the staff members inside. He's been a regular here since he got off of college. So basically this is his second home.
"Morning Hyuk." Sungmin smiled.
"Morning." Eunhyuk replied. "The regular please."
"Coming right up."
Eunhyuk smiled, walking towards his usual spot only to find the place occupied.
"Tch. Seat stealer." Eunhyuk murmured, grumpily walking his way to a different seat.
"Morning Hyuk." Ryeowook smiled serving his Strawberry milk.
"Thank you." Eunhyuk said. "Do I get two today?"
Ryewook shook his head. "This one is for that guy there."
"Oh, not only is he a seat stealer but also a drink copier." Eunhyuk said.
Ryeowook just laughed at his friend's attitude.
Eunhyuk loved this time of day where he can just relax, sit down and drink his favorite drink. I wonder how Donghae is. He thought. He'd probably be a doctor right now or a biologist or an astronaut or whatever that goof can possibly want to do.
Eunhyuk sighed. "Donghae."
"Yes?"
Eunhyuk jumped out of his seat and looked at the source of the voice. "Seat stealer."
"Pardon me?"
"Seat stealer."
"No, my name is Donghae, you just said it."
Eunhyuk didn't reply, there has got to be some mistake here.
"You look very familiar but I can't point out who."
Eunhyuk's eyes were close to falling out, his mouth agape and his breathing is getting rigid. "Le...lee.. Dong..hae?"
"Yea."
Eunhyuk didn't reply, he ran out of the cafe as fast as he can with to particular destination in mind.
"Eunhyuk!" Sungmin yelled from the counter when he saw his friend ran out. "What's wrong with him?"
Ryeowook shook his head in reply.
"Excuse me but can you tell me that guy's name." Donghae asked.
"Eunhyuk." Sungmin said. "Well we call him Eunhyuk but his real name is Lee Hyukjae."
"Hyung! you're not suppose to tell strangers that." Ryeowook gasped.
"No, no, I'm not a stranger, Eunhyuk happens to be my childhood friend." Donghae replied
"Doesn't seem like it." Ryewook resorted.
"Wookie!" Sungmin hissed. "Sorry about that.
"It's okay." Donghae smiled leaving the cafe.
~
Eunhyuk ran to the park, he's pretty sure that Donghae wouldn't catch up with him. It cannot be Donghae, can it? He thought. I don't know what to do anymore, I still like him a lot and I don't even know.
Eunhyuk lost track of time idling at the park. It was around 9pm when his stomach growled that he realized that it's already this late. He took the cab home and only to be surprised to see someone waiting at his door.
"Donghae."
"Hyukkie."
"How.. how did you find my house." Eunhyuk asked, afraid to go any close to Donghae because he was afraid that if he does, he'll go break down and hug the life out of the latter.
"I asked people, Hyukkie, you don't know how much I tried looking for you." Donghae replied, walking towards Eunhyuk.
Eunhyuk was a sobbing mess, he couldn't stop the tears from falling down. With that Donghae just said he knew that his old best friend still cared about him.
"Why are crying." Donghae asked, finally hugging the later.
"Bu...but what about Jessica?" Eunhyuk replied, clutching on Donghae's shirt.
Donghae dried Eunhyuk's tears. "Hyukkie, look at me, Jessica and I are long gone. We broke up the day before graduation, I figured out that she's just using me and I saw her kissing this other guy behind our school. I was going to tell you after graduation but I couldn't find you, I asked Kangin hyung where you're going but he doesn't know either. Hyukkie, for the past 10 years I've been trying to look for you. I realized that I cannot live without my best friend whom I can only care about. Hyukkie, I'm sorry for every wrong doing I have done."
Eunhyuk hugged Donghae after hearing all those words. "It's okay, Hae, I forgive you." I love you too much that I couldn't bring myself to hate you. He thought.
"Eunhyuk, I'm never ever going to let you go." Donghae murmured on the latter's hair.
"Hae, I have something to tell you." Eunhyuk said.
"What is it?" Donghae asked holding Eunhyuk's hands.
Eunhyuk couldn't seem to bring the right words out so in the end he just straight forwardly kissed Donghae on the lips. It was a sweet short kiss that made the two men go red.
"I love you too." Donghae said, kissing the latter once more. "So, so much.
