UW Arboretum Panoramas

Over the course of a bit over a year, I took a series of 360° panoramas from the same spot in the UW Arboretum. I'm putting some of them together for a large print, and I need to decide if a white or black background looks better.

Lovely - and a great idea! I vote for Black > White border.

I agree! Think the black accentuates the colors more.

Same here - it really accentuates the sky rather than letting it blend into the background. So definitely black.

That was my thought as well. Also generally wow that's a cool idea!

I'd suggest having a generally white background with a thinner black border around the individual pieces. At least, I think that'd be worth trying. Otherwise I feel like the overall image is overly dark considering that the subject matter is daylight.

I agree with this.. the black is pretty dark. On this white background webpage thing (my journal didn't have a link border) the white looked cleaner.

Up close, though... and on a naked webpage... hmm, the black is more striking. But I think far away layout might be better to consider when it's hanging on your wall and mostly being viewed from a distance.

Try more borders!! And think about if the frame will add a border, too!

I ended up going with the borders, and I think it turned out nicely.
