I feel a bit guilty of having most of my Christmas presents this year being DVDs, and even more that half of them are out/coming really soon to Blu-Ray. I might have to put aside most things I planned on saving for and planning on saving for a HDTV (1080p most likely) and a Blu-Ray player. Keep in mind that yes, you want a 1080p TV, and you also have to buy HDMI cables separately which are about 50 bucks. Blockbuster offers a good deal on a player, where you either get 4 free rentals or 1 discounted movie to own.

Also keep in mind, when looking for a player, to get one that "upconverts" old DVDs to make them look sharper. It's not as good as a Blu-Ray, but at least you can keep most of your old DVDs and not feel compelled to get Blu-Ray for every single one.
