I read somewhere that fish sleep with their eyes open. Yes, common knowledge. I know.
It is theorized that they "turn off" their eyes the same way humans "turn off" their ears when they sleep.

My question: How do we turn off our ears???

Observations on my solitary lifestyle:

Nachos become a staple of my diet.
I keep inventing projects for myself.

I clean more, but cook less.
I dream more, but sleep less.

I read more.

The bathroom never gets cleaned.
I pay the bills on time.
I forget to eat and drink.
I let the dog sleep with me.

I cry more.

I sing less.

As you all may or may not know, I hurt my back last week. It felt like a strained muscle at the beginning of the day, then progressively got worse. By noon, it was so bad, I couldn't even lift my left arm and I was crying. (FYI--I never cry from pain! Not even when I broke my bones!) So they sent me home from work. I'm falling again. I could feel myself feel more intensely lately. Not minding so much for the much-needed microbursts of chemical euphoria.
