proper wake/veiwing attire

What is the proper attire for a wake/veiwing? It's been a while since I've been to one. Should I wear all black head to toe? or would a black dress with a red sweater be okay? should I wear dressy black funeral attire or is a wake/viewing more of a dressy casual type of thing? Help.

i don't think black is required for the viewing, but definetely something dressy casual, like slacks and a sweater or whatever. what's going on?

My uncle Booty and aunt Micha's brother-in-law Matt lost a substantial part of his hearing in his right ear last year. He went to the doctor, had head CT's, the whole nine, but nothing came up so it was kind of blown off and forgotton about. Anyway, on Wednesday of last week he went out to lunch with his father and brother and was acting funny. He was shuffeling(sp) his feet and not finishing sentences. So, his father talked him into going to the doctor where there were more CT's, but again nothing showed up. Later that night his wife Linda went into the bedroom where he had been resting and found him out cold on the floor. He was rushed to the hospital where it was determined that he had had a major brain hemmorage(sp). Well, while they were picking at his brain(for lack of a better term to use) they found a large tumor. He was put into a medically induced coma so that he could "heal better". Yesterday they found out he had no activity in his brain AT ALL. He was taken off of life support this morning when it was found out that the ( ... )

whatever you do, make sure what you're wearing isn't ass-less. That is appropriate attire for fewer functions than one might think.

Really, I think that ass-less attire is appropriate for any occasion. It would certainly be appropriate to have Kevin tatoo the deceased's name on one cheek.

Seriously, sorry to hear about the loss. Sorry I couldn't talk longer at work today--new job, still trying to kiss ass.

I know, all I could think about when I got off of the phone was how rude you were.
Seriously though, I completly understand, I was at work too.
