Okay, so I was super lazy and a big old procrastinator and never uploaded my Family Reunion pics. So now I've got like 17 of those PLUS 7 more that I took on a wee trip up the coast that my mom and I took over the last couple nights. The Reunion was from August 3rd to 11th, and we were in Minneapolis/St. Paul, Northwest Wisconsin and the Upper ( Read more... )

suddenly there were palm trees and i was like WTF!

man. i haven't been way Up North in years and years. i need to again. Lake Superior is freaking ginormous. love the Great Lakes.

(for the record, Wisconsin has more lakes than Minnesota, who are always "ooh we have 10,000 lakes aren't we awesome." WI has 15,000.)

your photos are lovely and make me want to road trip.

HEE! Actually, I got a Lake Superior shirt in Bayfield, and it's got a PALM TREE on it. "Quick, what's near water? What do we have in clip art?" Heh.

You do! It's really neat just to drive around. And Bayfield is cool, yo. I could recommend some places since I have become oddly familiar with it of late.

(I totally believe you.)

Thank you! DO IT.

I think, in the dictionary, next to the word kitsch... is a giant muskie.

HEE. I should take a pic and send it to you for good times. (Do you get pics via text?)

It really is beautiful up there. Even though you rarely had reception. What aren't there pictures of WalMart?

Because... Walmart looked the same? It's totally beautiful. But we have that here only with cell reception. Hee.

I love that view from the cabin. It's the sort of place I'd love to be.

Gorgeous pics! When I was in Wisconsin earlier this month, I got to cruise on Lake Michigan and it was so gorgeous. I wish I could have seen more of the state, but what I saw was beautiful.

Ventura is nice. I like the Oxnard beaches, Mandalay, Oxnard shores and Hollywood Beach. Awesome! So peaceful.

I've never seen Lake Michigan. We did a cruise of Lake Superior a few years back, though and that was neat. It's so massive!

Mandalay is so nice; we love the Mandalay beach resort. Nobody's ever at that beach, either!

Lots of em!

The Holiday Inn Express at Ventura Harbor and the Crowne Plaza in Ventura have good mid week rates. Also, if you tell them you're a state government employee, they charge 84 a night and never check ID. heh

I have decided we must go to Michigan because it's so beautiful. (Mammoth has a McDonalds that looks like a ski lodge).
Plus I want to know the neat hotels in Ventura that have good rates.

And finally...that's so WEIRD! Human Hair of their loved ones?? Whoever thought of that? and then to shape it into realistic flowers!! People are strange.

Michigan is beautiful, and probably pretty affordable during the summer months.

The Holiday Inn Express at Ventura Harbor was 84 mid week if you tell them you're a state employee and they don't check id. heh Same goes for the Crowne Plaza in Ventura. The Hyatt in Palm Springs is 75 a night mid week during the summer and it's all suites.

THANK YOU. WTF?
