I think I'm a bit miffed as to what this means. Is it basically as if they've always been in school (so, the journal entries shouldn't be all "omg how the f did I get here?") ...And going on about the canon part, what about OCs?

Exactly! It'll be like they've always been going to this school since arriving here, rather than they've always been in the apartments. As for OC's, you'll remember the history behind your character, their world, etc. and also the relationships that they've made since the apts. They will remember the people still back at the apts. as well, but more in a sense of so and so isn't at school today.

Basically they just have no memory of the apt. building itself.
