THANK YOU! they're all talking about how great it is that they're not portraying a "blonde, blue-eyed jesus". but they're nowhere near being accurate anyway, so it's almost like, why bother? he might as well be blonde, you know?

I donno, I thought it was well done and I learned a bit. I don't think it's that important that the actor isn't the proper ethnicity, certainly not a reason to immediately judge the movie as unworthy of your time. It's a good story nonetheless.
But image if "X" had been made with a white actor playing Malcom X...
well, that's not quite the same, since Jesus' teachings are supposed to apply beyond whatever ethnicity he was. Meanwhile, much of Malcolm X's advice is exclusionary to say the least

i'm not ragging on the movie, really (i'll save that for another time)... only indirectly in that it has lent much talk to the issue...
