She trailed off, and her expression took on a puzzled and somewhat abstracted air, as if this was the first time that she had considered the issue. Evidently unable to come up with an explanation for her presence

Actually, what I am proud of is having managed to give the impression that was what I had been working on achieving. Plus plus doublethink, you see.

I sense some duplicity behind those scores - they are far too accurate to have been the output of a computer programme

On the contrary, it gave my scores to the nearest percent. Actually, I think you mean precise, not accurate, clearly you are not a scientist.

I thought that precision had to do with significant figures, decmali places etc.
What I implied was the results were such an accurate portrayal of you that you must have made them up rather than than being the output of some weird programme.

Well, how was I supposed to know that when you said 'accurate' you actually meant 'accurate' as opposed to 'accurate'. I wish people would be more precise.
