So.... who's up for some shopping this weekend? I know I am! =D Wesley and I are gonna head up to Little Rock and go to Hot Topic. Alright.... stop... before any of you start whining, complaining, and shouting "poser" I want you to know some of the things that I've been arguing about with a friend of mine. You may think that by shopping at Hot ( Read more... )

Maybe I shouldn't complain about life, but I wasn't really complaining about life, I was complaining about people not accepting me for what I am. Even those that are opposed to stereotypes. And as for you being an anti-poser biatch... sorry about that. Didn't mean to portray you like that, but despite what you say, you stopped shopping at Hot Topic when those "posers" started shopping there. And though you say you just changed your style, it doesn't change the fact that, when I asked you straight up what would happen if they started dressing like your new style, you said you would find another new style. This sort of individualism is what pisses me off more than anything and why I was so upset before I went offline. If you're an individual, fine be an individual. But if you're going to say, "I won't let the crowd affect who I am" then don't let the crowd effect who you are. If what you're into starts getting popular and you change who you are because of it... guess what you just did. You let the crowd effect who you are. You can't ( ... )

You know... I guess I don't know hot not to be a "poser". They open up a AE, I buy clothes from there, (the clearance stuff mind you), and then preps say I'm a poser, I buy clothes from this store, other people say I'm posing. I have come to this conclusion, no matter where I buy my clothes or what they look like, someone is going to say that I am posing. Screw that, I am who I say I am, and if you don't like it, SUCK IT!

I'm loving the pants. I'm not gonna call you a poser, I love Hot Topic! I kinda know what your saying about still trying to figure out who you are. I'm 20 and MARRIED and to be honest, I'm still not sure who I am. All I know is I'm me.Not sure who "me" is..but, whatever. :) But, I LOVE the pants!

Struukan, you are a poser, and a loser, and you know it. Now go find a quiet corner to die in before I bribe braden to storm your castle again.

Stephy_chan, we all know about your hopeless battle against poserism. The evil cows of huge injustice and tiny handbags are coming to visit their vengenace upon you! You will be clothed in GAP!!!

Nice pants. ;)

Seriously. People're retarded when it comes to labels. I hate people that TRY too hard to be different and I hate people who TRY too hard to fit in. I don't see why they can't be true to themselves and just dress the way THEY like, and listen to the music THEY want to listen to without worrying about what everyone else thinks. You know why? Because everyone that's judging you for it is stupid.

Okay, I'm done. XD

I don't mind people who try too hard to fit in as much as I despise people that try too hard to be different. People that try too hard to fit in are driven by a desire for people to like them, and I really don't see anything wrong with that. I know I did it occassionally in high school. But people who go out of the way to be different seem like nothing but hypocrits to me... and it really pisses me off.

You don't see anything wrong with people completely changing who they are in front of people just so they'll like them?

Even if they just want them to like him/her, they aren't being true to themselves or anyone else.

But okay, if you don't see anything wrong with it.

Anyway.

Never said I really liked it, I just said I don't mind as much and I can kind of relate. *shrug* You're right... it's not right to deny yourself just so people will like you, but sometimes people feel it's the only way people will accept them. I know that's how it was at Greenbrier. People weren't all that accepting at Greenbrier. It wasn't until I got to College and met Jeff and Jennika that I found people who accepted me for who and what I was and I didn't have to pretend to be anything else around them. I felt liberated.
