Three new master's theses (or the equivalent) on the market, all freely available through the right channels (and it's possible to buy Hook's in print, too).

Thank you for the kind words. You are correct about the supervisor bias, as nobody in my school had ever heard of larp, much less any research conducted into it. I am certain there are seminal works missing, and would be delighted to read anything you can recommend.

Dear Ian, I think the central things to read would be Brenne's "Making and Maintaining Frames" (2005, IIRC; you can get it from Sarah Bowman) and the older works by Jaakko Stenros, mentioned in the post above. Possibly also what Kurt Lancaster wrote on larps around the turn of the Millennium. Plus maybe, if you can get access to it, Snow's book "Performing the Pilgrims", which while about museum re-enactment and not larp, has a lot of relevant stuff in it.

Once you've caught up, I think you should turn your thesis content into an article for IJRP. Sarah will be able to help you with that as well.
