Scans: Trinity #3

Jun 19, 2008 23:06

Hm.  Trinity continues to be about the Trinity but feature distressingly little of the Trinity.  If I were paying for this book (and I may well buy it in TPB later) I'd be a bit disappointed to end up mostly watching the JLA sans Trinity fighting a big purple...thing.  I'm sorry, I cannot take seriously an alien villain named Konvikt.  I just can't ( Read more... )

I have hopes it's get rolling eventually. It does seem to be easing in more slowly than the other weeklies, but I have hopes that's a sign it'll be less frenetic and random? *looks hopeful*

I definitely noticed Bats taking care of Roy before I noticed anything else in that panel. *g* Also, where can I get Wondy's bra? That thing is amazing!! *is jealous*

(The cat ears still bug me, no matter who draws them. ^-^)

The cat ears are so odd! They don't feel...right, somehow. I'm not a big fan of the Jones-style three-foot spike ears, but they should look more batty and less catty, IMHO.

I totally awwwwwed at Bruce jumping to Roy's side!

Word. (I'm trying out colloquial slang more appropriate to my age group. Don't think it's working lol)

Since Dick/Roy is my OTP, any mention of them, no matter HOW convoluted or vague, always makes me squee. So, in my head, seeing Bats look after Roy is Bats showing how he approves of his charge's love affair friendship with Red Arrow. Which is awesome. It's real to me, damnit! ;)

I like seeing them having fights too, I just...want them to be fights that show the Trinity talking and snarking together. I'm not picky about where they talk (although the coffee scene was sweet and I do love those quiet moments), but...c'mon, talk, people! Show us some psychology! *shakes book slightly*

*blink* I do hope that was a joke? Seeing as how it's only excerpts, and serves more as an advertisment than anything else. If people like what they see in these little scans, surely they're more likely to go buy the book? Or at least consider it, anyway. I've possibly missed the point, but that's what I thought, anyway.

I really hope the TPB is worth buying! I own enough DC TPBs to bury someone alive--I even prefer to buy them in hardcover. But I like to know what I'm getting is at least decent. In a bookstore you can flip open a book and browse it a bit, but I'm supposed to drop over $100 sight-unseen for a weekly title? (Never mind I can't get them in Japan! If only DC had a download service, I know I'd use it for quite a few titles...)

Yeah, I feel kind of bad about it, but if I want to encourage people to read it, I have to be able to read it myself, and there's no options for me here...

I kinda want to drop Trinity now for the boring build up. I almost did, as a matter of fact, despite Enigma's beloved. As Batman says, HM?

But the backup story drew me in, and if Tarot becomes the third member of the Enigma-Morgaine cabal, I might not. Magic!

You liked Tarot? I'm glad! I've been trying to like her, but...eh, nothing much so far. Isn't Morgaine the magic-based member of the cabal? I assumed Tarot wouldn't be joining them because of that...

(That said, I really love Tarot cards, and liked the glimpse of the Trinity as Tarot cards very much! Although I would cast Bruce as the Magician, personally...)

Ah, part of my liking Tarot is cos she's from LA. Anytime a comic character's from my city, I gotta support :D

Good point, two magic-based member would be more than enough in the cabal. Still, is divination magic or like a psychic ability? If it's the latter, I can't wait to see how Tarot's ability will be exploited. If it's the former, maybe we'll see Batman grunting and saying there's no such thing as magic. Always fun.

Bruce as the magician is a great image, and I would love to see other DCU characters as Tarot cards. Gotta have Plastic Man as the Fool, natch.

Oooh! My first intuition was Robin-Dick, actually, but Plas is even better. :) I should put together a set of options...Zatanna would obviously be an awesome Magician as well, but I would almost lean toward her being the Priestess instead...

(Would the Watchtower be the Tower? I don't like the symbolism, but it's so tempting...) And I bet Ollie and Dinah would be the Lovers, hmmm.

*wanders off, pondering happily*
