Scans: Trinity 4

Well, the boring purple Konvikt is still around, being boring and purple this week.  But the fight scene does have some good character touches, showing the Trinity working together at each thing they do best.

Also, more of Eddie advertising that hey, Batman, call me anytime.  I love you for your mind.

Batman "inspires" a family to move to safety:

"silk and leather and tricks and toys"

"Starry-eyed devotee"

Those two lines made me giggle quite a bit. Hee! *pets Eddie* :P

From what I've seen of the previews of the next issue, Superman goes off to rescue Batman. ;)

Yay! *dances* And I'm sure gets told Bruce is handling it just fine, thank you very much. :) But it's the charging off to help that's the payoff. :)

Diana always inspired people to believe in themselves and do better in the Golden Age, so perhaps they want to bring that back for her now. Her thing was always telling girls and women that they could do great things if they just believed in themselves, a great message for females in the 1940s.

As for pairing her up, she just needs to stick with her own mortal. ;)

I definitely like my superheroes to be able to inspire others! But the way they define it gets perilously close to "She's a good cheerleader and support for others," instead of "She inspires others by doing awesome things." They're both good things, but the latter's a lot more active than the former. I'm sure they mostly mean the latter, but it frustrates me that they picked her being supportive rather than active on her own as an essential moment for her (especially when she's busily saving lots of others while she does it).

Well, DC has never been known for crystal-clarity. ;)

I think they did show her as saving people but also inspiring those who had to get across themselves. Superman inspires by his deeds but also by his words of truth, justice, and...

Diana also does the same thing, as she brings out people's self-confidence. Saviors are great, but in the end, all one has is oneself to depend upon, or at least in many situations.

Hey, she's been so screwed by bad writing over the years that it'll take time to set something consistent for her! :)

My brain hurts now. Thank you. "Oh Bruce--Superman--" is a real brain-bender...
