I was wondering how you were going to deal with the issue of Bruce belonging to Kara.

And Bruce really should have forseen something like that happening. Kal is filled with a new burning passion! it's just not uite being directed in the way bruce wants ;p

Is the next chapter going to be higher than pg by any chance?

Yeah, exactly. :) "I wanted you against slavery--uh, but not quite in this way right now. Darn."

I'm afraid not. :P Would it help if I told you there were three more arcs planned? I haven't been saying it for sure because I was half-certain I'd get something horribly wrong and have to hide under my bed for a month. But since things seem to be going okay...this arc is really just setting the stage for the rest of the series. Kal and Bruce haven't really ever talked and they don't know each other at all--in general as a writer (and especially when the power imbalance is so horrific) I prefer them to have a good strong understanding before anything sexual happens.

*crosses fingers that the last few chapters don't go off the rails entirely*

Epic poetry for the win! :) I'm hoping it eventually expands to become pretty epic by the end--we shall see if it inspires poetry! :)

Thanks so much for the encouragement, it really means a lot!

I love this story more and more with every single part. I'm starting to be afraid of how sad I'll be when it's over...

This part was excellent. Kal coming to all sorts of important realizations. Loved that. And OMG, I was so giggling with glee when I read that Kara had turned Bruce over to Kal. heee!!!! :) I'm not sure I fully understands the implications of what Kal's done -- neither does he, I imagine... I can't wait to find out. :)

Well...I've been kind of quiet on the issue because I'm still pretty sure I'll mess something up badly and be too disappointed in myself to continue, but...there are three more arcs planned out on this one. So you can probably put off sadness for a while, assuming I don't send the fic flying off a cliff in the last few chapters. :)

Kara's been watching Kal's reactions to Bruce pretty carefully and has decided he might enjoy Bruce's pillow talk. :)

Bruce is going to be happy to explain it to him. In fact, Bruce finally gets downright loquacious. He's been chafing at his silence for a while now, I think...

*hugs* Thanks for the wonderful comment!

A) SQUEE!!!
B) If by sending it off a cliff you mean "messing it up", I seriously doubt you could possibly do that. If you meant "decide you hate it and want to blow it to smithereens", I really hope that won't happen. :)

And yay for Bruce getting loquacious. Looking forward to him explaining quite a few things... ;) That and the pillow talk. hee!

I'm loving this series something fierce, so (B) is unlikely. :) The topic is a ticklish one and I don't have much experience writing stories with a vast power imbalance between the characters, so I've been pretty uncertain about it and how I'm going to get the relationship to a sexual one without it being non-con, considering the power issues. I've been loving it so far and am hoping to give it a try in the next arc, though. Thanks so much for the encouragement!

*facepalms*

Kal just totally put Bruce back on the market without realizing it, didn't he? Something like - 'Oh, I'm not yours to free until you've FILED the damn papers, you idealistic imbecile.' and since he has no papers to file - Oh dear.

Bruce can work around it, of course (he's Bruce!)--but yeah, Kal hasn't really thought out what options a paperless human has in a world where all humans are property. Got a little zealous without thinking it through. That's why we love him... :)

Oh wow! There was so much of this that I loved and SO little time to write a comment before I have to go to a lecture- damn! Umm, I love Alfred, he is the most amazing man ever, ever, ever, ever, ever! More so than Bruce or Kal or anyone else, Alfred FTW!

I love the intensity of Kal's reaction to the tuth and Bruce's reaction to Kal's reaction to the truth :)

And if I can pick just one line that I like 'After he left, Kal finished his lemonade. Why hadn't he ever noticed how bitter it was under the sweet?' I love how much of a utopia the world can seem to kryptonian's on the surface where as to humans (and Kal at the end) it's so obviously a dystopia.

I have to go :(:(:( but just know that there is a lt more to this that I love- i just picked out a couple of things!

Alfred pwnz all. :)

I really enjoyed writing that. My beta actually had me slow it down a bit more, even. So much fun to write.

As arch_schatten has said, there is a sort of strange beauty to the world that Poison Ivy or Ra's could rather appreciate. But the price is a terrible one, and one the Kryptonians can't see so well, floating above it all...

So glad you're liking it!

Um, I haven't talked about it much, but if I can balance up to the end of this arc without offending there'll be three more arcs planned. Can't get from zero (negatives, even) to a full relationship in seven chapters with this kind of situation. :)

Glad you're liking it and there's a good chance there'll be quite a bit more!
