With the Olympics just around the corner, I've been humbly requested to mention the World's Finest Summer Games again!  And since the requester is also my beta, I really have little choice in the matter...  *grin*

The deadline is August 31--any stories that mention summer and games in any way.  I ended up talking about the Olympics to practice

I've written a story for this, but I'm not sure if I'm happy with it. :( I'll have to read it again.

Also, the stories are meant to be anonymous, aren't they? Mine has got a, um... strong British accent! And I would need help to fake an American accent so I don't give myself away, lol... :p

Bruce on the equestrian team? Hmm, would he be an eventer, a dressager or a showjumper, I wonder? ;)

You're not the only British citizen who might write something, so I wouldn't worry about it! :)

I'm not super-happy with mine either yet! We'll see if I can tinker a bit more...

And yeah, definitely dressage. :) Now I'm going to watch the dressage events compulsively and imagine Bruce there, lol. Though man, he's be tasty in gymnastics, too. Bruce doing the Iron Cross...*drools*

I believe as long as Clark and Bruce play a role in it somewhere it should be okay! (There really should be more Titans-style events out there!)

I know they've shown the regular Olympics in comics -- Batman & the Outsiders faced off against Maxie Zeus and his New Olympians. I have at least two Olympic AUs (attending and competing, just to cover my bases), but neither are remotely World's Finest oriented. I always pegged Bruce as a gymnast myself with Clark as a weightlifter, if we're assuming their alter egos don't exist in this verse. (Yes, I'm a sports/Olympics geek and likely to drop trivia at the drop of a hat... *grins*)

The problem with the torchbearer is it's usually someone from the host nation, unless you argue the "citizen of the world" theory with Superman.

This means I need to think about this story again, don't I? *sighs*

Still, as an Olympic junkie I'm happy to see anything on the theme. I would have put Clark in the shot put/hammer throw events, maybe decathalon? But weight lifting makes sense too! Bruce would make a great gymnast but I'm pretty sure Dick gets to take home the gold there. :)

Yeah, that's kind of vaguely what I had in my head, although I know what you mean too.

Oh, also, the contest is for anything with "games" at all, not just Olympic, just in case that widens the field up. :) I'm just on an Olympic kick lately.
