8D Yay! Bruce found the pretty flower! And yay for Clark destroying rented car handles!

Yeah, I pondered killing him off and ending there, but decided that might be a bit...LOL, no way! No!

Bruce had to find the flower, of course! And I can never get enough of Clark mangling things unconsciously while under stress. :)

Glad you liked it!

Me: "Uh, it's a Jen fic. I'm pretty damn sure they'll be in time."

Oh, that line! "his gaze snapping to Clark's eyes like a line pulling taut between them." Gorgeous, gorgeous!

OMG your icon...*collapses giggling*

Um...*pulls self together* Thank you! It was kind of a delicate balance between Clark-saving-the-day and Clark-being-baggage, lol. But I do figure they inspire each other a great deal, so I hoped it would work. :)

They will remember to burn that paperwork, right? Because it isn't over yet, with the perilous life that Bruce leads.

This is lovely. You use symbolism so deftly that it enriches the story, rather than bogging it down.

*grin* Although I won't show the details, I do assume they call the police, head back in to tie up the criminals, and grab the paperwork. :)

And thank you for the compliment about the symbolism! It's always a hard balance between making it enhance the story without hitting people over the dead with it. *grin*

alsdkjfaslkdfjlsdkfj OMG YAY. Oh, Alfred <3 :D :D Alfred srsly carried both Batman and Superman out of harm's way. He really IS Superbutler!! :3

Also - I was watching Superman Returns today and I kept WAITING for Bruce to show up. No joke! My mind totally kept thinking, 'aaaaand Bruce now? Bruce turns this corner now? WHY ISN'T LEX LUTHOR SAYING BRUCIE.' You've ruined me! *g* But in the best way <3

Amazing chapter, as usual!

He totally is! I have to admit, Alfred swooping in to save the day for Batman and Superman makes me bubbly. :) I couldn't resist.

LOL! Aw, thanks! That's a very high compliment. And I love the idea of him suddenly peeking around a corner in SR...

HEE. It makes me bubbly too! And I think it's totally in character that they're all 'aaaaagdslkf familllllly' and Alfred's like '*rolls eyes* *saves day*' *g* It kinda shows how young they are and how much experience he has over them.

HEE. Srsly, it just didn't seem right to see Clark being all farmboy and silly without Bruce in his ear or showing up with lunch :D Especially when he saves the plane at the beginning and he says 'I hope this hasn't put you off flying!!! Statistically speaking it's still the safest way to travel!!!' omg. Only Clark would save people and then give them trivia.

That is such a totally adorkable line, lol. I can totally imagine Bruce snickering in his ear at it. :)

Okay, so I totally couldn't sleep after the cliffhanger ending of the book I just read, so I wandered in here hoping that my flist might have updated enough to distract me. And lo and behold, here this is. Awesome.

I love that Bruce got what you've been trying to say all along, with Clark and Alfred's fussing and worrying and saving of the day- yes, he lost his parents, but that doesn't mean he doesn't have a family. And how much do I love that he got to see the lotus after all? ::stretches arms wide:: This much.

Glad I could provide a non-cliffhanger for you! :)

yes, he lost his parents, but that doesn't mean he doesn't have a family.

It's a lesson he has to learn over and over again in the comics--I suspect because it's so satisfying to write and to read that we repeat the theme again and again. But movieverse Bruce hasn't really fully processed that yet, and especially after watching TDK it was satisfying to write...

And how much do I love that he got to see the lotus after all? ::stretches arms wide:: This much.

I totally couldn't resist that. I'd like to think that the money he gave them might even have helped...the Institute isn't legit by any means, but I think they actually were working there as well...
