Scans: Trinity #10

Aug 09, 2008 13:03

This week in Trinity the mind-control hints continue in intriguing ways, and the Crime Syndicate shows up (but so far just postures a bit).

More to the point, Dick and Tim eat cukewiches and Dick gets his butt ogled by a talking gorilla in a metal corset.

No, really.

Seeing the Crime Syndicate drives Superman almost round the bend, which triggered a ( Read more... )

ASL;DKJFSADKA the Dick and Tim bit just blew my mind, and is currently my favoritest moment in current DC history *ever*. I cannot help but imagine Primat with a southern-belle-type voice. :D :D :D

For all of his "non-people person" tendencies and self-proclamations, Batman is a pretty good motivator. Very good actually. :D Kinda reminds me of his YOU CAN DO IT! speech to Kyle during DC One Million.

That's a great one! May I save that? I've been thinking (inspired by your Batman post) about doing a series of scans of Batman being awesome, lol. This and the inspiring speech he gives Superman in Morrison's WWIII are good counter-examples of the "Bruce has no people skills." I'm a little concerned that in Trinity it's supposed to be a sign of his mind slipping, though. :(

No problem at all! :D Of course, this is also Kyle Rayner at one of his most hardcore moments ever. I don't know how else to describe the sheer feat of him being able to *literally* contain a supernova in his own hands. And I can never forget that scene from WW3! It's most certainly inspiring, and so funny at the same time: "SAVE THEM OR GOD HELP ME I'LL HOUND YOU THROUGH THE AFTERLIFE!" lol.

Yeah, that kind of implication doesn't sit well with me either. Personally, I don't see any reason why this would be so strange for Bruce's character -- he's not as open and often as people like Clark or Diana with his encouragements, but it doesn't mean that he's incapable of doing so. The same goes for Clark's disposition here, just because the guy has always tried to hold back from expressing anger, doesn't mean he doesn't get mad at all.

I just can't imagine Batman trained three different young boys in fighting and detective skills and was a crap teacher and motivator. He's got to have done more than just beat them up and stalk off when they weren't doing well. And I agree, to have Clark lose control of his anger is just...odd. Is it that he's usually angry and has gotten Bruce or Diana's lack of control? I doubt that. So it seems to imply he's rarely as angry as Diana and/or Bruce, which just doesn't ring true. A tight leash on your destructive emotions doesn't mean you don't have them...if he's just a nice guy who never ( ... )

I am absolutely speechless and I have to agree, yes, his butt looks amazing. that aside, it has been quite a while since I looked at American comics and thanks to this, you've rekindled that little spark in me. >w< I really have a lot to catch up on.

*grin* DC is in the middle of one of those crazy "THE WORLD WILL NEVER BE THE SAME AGAIN" doohickies, so there's a lot of dust getting kicked up...but Trinity and Superman/Batman are still good reads and the universe as a whole still drags me in irresistably.

Trinity especially has reminded me how awesome Tim and Dick and Barbara all are, so I thank it for that!
