Yay! A new part to this.

I love this truly naive Kal. Put him in any situation and he wants the best for people. Even if he doesn't know how to achieve it.

And, as for Kal asking about how to treat each other once they're both free men. *giggles* I'm sure Bruce will show him a thing or two. ;)

Kal really is a hopeful person in this series--even though, as you point out, it's a bit vague how exactly he's going to manage this whole "equality" thing when he still holds the collar.

And, as for Kal asking about how to treat each other once they're both free men. *giggles* I'm sure Bruce will show him a thing or two. ;)

Bruce might have a few possibilities in mind, at that. ;)

"Mournful-puppy-can't-have-his-way" is...yes, about right, lol. "Why can't we all just be friends and...uh...have a better world?" And oh, thanks for the summary of Kara, that's almost exactly how I wanted her to come across, someone who's learned to bear herself lightly but never forgets what's at stake.

I am SO GLAD you're back! I was really hoping this story would continue, and there you go, posting more! *grins*

Poor Kal, he's trying so hard, and yet he can't do anything about it. But at least Bruce and Alfred got a little time together! That was sweet.

*hugs Kal* *and you!*

*bows* I'm happy to oblige! *grin*

And yeah, Kal's trying but the system doesn't give much leeway for good intentions, I'm afraid. But I'm sure Bruce and Alfred appreciate it...

Thanks for the comment!

Awwwww.... Poor Kal, all worked up for the cause now, but not able to do anything about it yet, even behind closed doors! Such frustration...

I sort of love that he feels so out of sorts about how things are progressing between him and Bruce. Looking away at the mention of sharing a bed, and the like. :p *pets him* He's so naive still. :)

So glad this series is back! ^_^

He is very...shy, almost? And uncertain and hopeful. He's younger--both actually and emotionally than the canon Kal, which is making him strange yet fun to write. :)

Thanks so much for reading and commenting!

*shakes head sadly* Oh, this world does such things to them ... Kal, wanting so much to be with Bruce as just two people, and Bruce all hard and glittering and do-it-right-dammit. *sighs* But they manage in all the little ways ... I do love that about your work. You let them show things in such small, meaningful ways. It's beautiful.

I'm so glad this one is continuing! Thank you!

Kal, wanting so much to be with Bruce as just two people, and Bruce all hard and glittering and do-it-right-dammit.

*sighs* Bruce is...rather unrelenting in this one. It's a hard world, and he doesn't want Kal--or more importantly, himself--to forget it. So he resists bending at all...

I'm glad the little things do come through, I get awfully nervous they won't and there'll be nothing but bleakness in this one. But I think they find small ways to work within the system they're stuck with for now...

Thank you for the lovely comment!
