Scans: Trinity #15

Sep 15, 2008 21:15

So I missed three weeks of Trinity scans while I was in the U.S., in which the JLA took on and defeated the Crime Syndicate of America and the Trinity continued to have problems with identity preservation. I bought the three weeks I could while in the States, and I think my favorite part was a sequence where Dick hires the Riddler to investigate ( Read more... )

LOL, you know I've mainly been fangirling over Pieter! :p

Hee, I really liked the issue with Eddie investigating! And then the looks on peoples when Dick causally says he hired the Riddler... :p

Man, I hate to say this, and I'm going to sound like an ungrateful wretch, but...this personality merging thing is giving me the creeps. It's...too intimate for me; I prefer my canon to hint at such connections and bonds, not actually give me scenes of Superman and Batman having their minds smushed together. It's making me surprisingly uncomfortable. *shrugs awkwardly* I am an ungrateful wretch!

*is an ungrateful wretch too* It's kinda freaking me out! It's... well, it just feels clumsy to me. They're becoming totally absorbed into each other and... *shivers*

*glomps* I'm glad you're back and are posting these again! I've missed them. :)

Pieter and Primat made me giggle!

I'm sure they're going to come out on the other side of this separate and stronger for it, but it's just kind of too much for me right now. It might be connected to my sort of...weird phobia about drugs and alcohol...I find stories where people's minds get messed up very disturbing. This one is definitely hitting some personal squicks for me!

I don't think you're an ungrateful wretch. I think that's how the characters feel. They enjoy their connection. They treat it as and play with it like a big inside joke but now that it's being forced to grow into something bigger, deeper, more intimate, they're very uncomfortable. (I also think that's how the writer/s want the readers to feel.)

I've only read the scans you've posted and what's been posted over in scans_daily, but it seems this is going to be a 'drink up the river before you drown' situation.

Good point! It's definitely written as unnerving for them as well. I'll be interested to see where they end up going with it! A fully merged consciousness would be creepy and cool at the same time...

DC fandom is beautiful and rich and expansive. It has a HUGE "entry fee" to truly get into it (although some aspects, like Superman/Batman, are pretty easy), but once you're in it's incredibly deep and gratifying, I have to say. *hugs* I shall be your gateway drug!

Ah, yes, possibilities! Threesome, anyone? ;)

I loved the Tarot discussions, too!

And GA in action was great! Also Roy's reactions and Ollie's rejoinder. :)

Hey, the colorist made Roy blond! Are he and Dick experimenting with different looks? ;)

I do hope someone takes this and runs with it in fanfic, because it could be very cool and hot. It's totally squicking me out, though, lol.

Maybe Roy's bleaching his hair! You know, to not be...uh...linked with Arsenal? He looks cute with blond hair, though!

They're going to throw cowboy on those mooks!

Seriously, though: Magician, Priestess, Emperor ONLY works as a trinity if you pretend you didn't skip Empress. Which you totally did. Magician, Priestess, Heirophant, maybe. (I've seen that rendered as High Priest, sometimes.)

Also, I was going to go with Star, Moon, Sun, but Moon, Sun, World works just as well.

Magician, Priestess, Hierophant works much better--the first two are a totally different, non-temporal kind of power than the Emperor, you know? Emperor, Empress, Chariot would actually work better, I think--and Bruce would make a reasonable Chariot at that.

I agree Diana makes a better Star than Earth--hope instead of completion and fulfillment--but I understand they're going with the theme of her being created from earth, so I'll let them get away with it. :)
