Thanks to a tip from brushed_velvet , I've realized that I managed to fark up the coding in my fic list and basically delete the links to all my non-series S/B fic.  Woe.  *droops*  Well, in an attempt to make a silk purse out of sow's ear, I'm going to take a little time and re-organize my stories to break up the S/B stories more clearly by length.  Right now

I hope it all doesn't prove too troublesome for you. I was in desperate need of a pick-me-up yesterday which is why I checked out the list to re-read some fics. When I came home from work and finished off reading what I'd started, I clicked the 'back' button and the list had disappeared... that was a real head-scratching moment I can tell you, lol.

I feel a little silly about this, but it's driving me insane, so... well. Usually I'm very good at picking up the meanings and connotations of words based on the context in which they're used--I think gleaning words out of novels is probably how I learned most of my vocabulary, actually--but I can't seem to figure out what the heck "meta" means. I've seen it used in your journal and in a few other places, and it continues to elude me. Any chance you could enlighten me? *embarrassed grin*

And good luck with your get-togethers! I think after the first two I'd probably pass out from entertaining overdose. Just the thought of it is making me tired, ugh...

*grin* "Meta-" as a prefix usually means anything abstracted an extra notch. So meta-discussion is a discussion about the discussion. Shortened up and used as its own word is usually means any sort of discussion of fandom or writing at an abstract level (discussions of genre, tagging, characterization and such are often called meta).

On the happy side, my students only stayed for an hour today! They had to go register for classes...so that was much less stressful. However, Dan and I double-booked tomorrow--we both have a class of students coming by at the same time. That should be a zoo... :P

Today was pretty crazy, but not bad! Having a Wii is very, very useful. :)

DaMo found me an older version of the page, so I can salvage some there...and then it's just a matter of mechanically going through my calendar and looking for the fic, lol...damn my poor tagging skills...
