Looks like Kal isn't the only one who's 'world' is being turned upside down.

That is...a very good summary. Poor Bruce. He was dangerously close to cracking entirely as I wrote this chapter. It was not what he signed up for...

I'm too tired right now to give you a coherant review, I need to sleep so badly. But ... I'm crying. That was ... beautiful. Sad and hurtful and achey, and very, very beautiful. Because that is so very Bruce, and so very Kal.

Thank you!

You're tired and sick as well, poor Icarus! *gives you hankies, chicken soup, whatever it takes to make you feel better* But thank you so much. This chapter made me terribly...nervous to write. Not unhappy like the last one because yes, there's beauty there as well if I can catch it, but the balance in this one was so delicate that I'm not sure the story stays on the tightrope, so to speak.

Excellent!

The irony is bittersweet here: not Kal who makes the mistake in public, but Bruce.

But Bruce is falling for his Master hard and fast and he can try and control it all he wants.

He'll fail.

I didn't even really see that irony until I started posting this arc and people were like, "Oh, Kal's going to get them in so much trouble!" and I realized that actually, just the opposite almost happens...

Bruce is a tough one, passionate and focused, and furious at himself for being distracted... but he's still human and able to care and feel and want, however much he might not like that.

I call that a 'pure moment', where you divine a revelation from your own fic that you wrote! LOL!

Another irony! ;)

Bruce's human emotions keep getting in his way, but if he didn't have those emotions, he'd have no connection to the humanity he's so determined to serve! :)

...I still can't think of anything coherent or useful to say.

Jen, I think I love you. Because you hurt them so beautifully, and yet handle it all with a delicacy that keeps it from being too angsty. I'm afraid I would make the angst too heavy-handed, "LOOK, CAN YOU SEE ME? I AM SAD BECAUSE I CAN'T HAVE YOU!", just to emphasize the point. But you have managed it perfectly, and color me jealous.

*pats Kal*

Awww, thanks! I really...struggled with writing angsty without being heavy--it doesn't really come naturally or easily to me. The story I'm working on now has angsty moments, and they keep tipping right over into the purple and I have to go back and fix them, lol. So I'm glad to hear the balance seems to have mostly worked here! *hugs*

I love the angst in the fic! OwO (I'm a bit of an angst addict...)

Kal is gotta be the only one who could make Bruce feel helpless... and I love him for it!
Bruce is so serious~~~ he sure is an all or nothing guy... sometimes I wish he could just forget the consequences and go with the flow...

I love your writing style~~~ it's always so pleasant to read *w*

Heh, it is so very much not my strength as a writer, but I'm enjoying the challenge in this one!

It really is all or nothing with Bruce--when he commits, he does it with all his heart, whether it's a Mission or a person (or, with some difficulty, both). :) I love him for it, but it doesn't make things easy for him, that's for sure...

Thanks so much for commenting, glad you're liking it so far!
