DCU Online to aim for female players

Oct 07, 2008 23:36

MTV Multiplayer: Have you done anything with “The Agency” and “DC Universe Online” to try to bring more women into those games as well?

Sony Online President:: We are going out of our way in “DC” because we saw that women were really the largest part of the audience for “The Dark Knight” [movie]. In fact, I heard a stat that said it might’ve been ( Read more... )

DCU dating sim! So much fun! I'll be giving it a try whatever, even if their idea of "female friendly" is "include more jewelry options" (which is just might...*shudder*)

Man, a DC yaoi game would be awesome.

And not just the fanboy wankery that would ensue.

It should be like a special option you can unlock if you spend enough time in-game, lol. "Slash benefits for long-term players!" :)

Well, you have certain games like Mass Effect where if you choose a certain path you can get a certain relationship. Just put in those. But with more gay.

I'm already making plans for this game (even if I don't have the systems) I'll at least have a villain character since me and some people agreed to be evil and form a team called "Superman is Clark Kent" but I also want to be on the JLA's good side! (and not aggro Batman into beating my ass". When I went to Comic-Con and played the game I loved it! Even thought I was kind of sucking at it and I let Superman die like twice, of course I was getting pummeled by Bizarro why he was fighting Luthor so I have an excuse! My only complaint was that Wonder Woman's armor skirt in the back is too high and you can see her ass crack and it looks like she isn't wearing any underwear... Hope your uniform options are more tasteful ( ... )

I hate playing villains, but for this game I'd probably make an exception since I'd probably know some of the people I was playing with. :)

Oh man. I'm imagining my mental trauma if I failed Superman on a mission and he died! I might need emergency therapy. :)

I agree, Bruce should be a total pain in the ass to team up with for at least the first thousand missions. I want to be able to cheer when I finally get a grudging, "I guess you're not a total waste of air," lol.

I want the super-secret Easter egg slash dating sim!

Shouldn't it say something to that guy that women flocked to see a movie that wasn't (I presume) made with the intention to "bring in more women"? Just make good games, guys, why is this hard? O_o

Game demographics aside, they should seriously make this game anyway. I think a DCU dating RPG would be like, a frillion times more amazing than all their existing movie tie-in games. Thanks for the lulz this early in the morning XD

Now I'm imagining the quest "Can you get dressed and drop off your wedding invitation on Barbara's nightstand without waking her up?" Ooooh, a challenge.

LOL!

Rabid fangirls everywhere would take over the DCUO. Small pockets of resistance fighters would band together to try to take us all down. It would be fluffy/porny anarchy.

Literal ship wars...that has a certain appeal. Clans based on pairings is an idea that's cracking me up quite a bit, actually. Damn that Batman/Joker crowd ganking us again...

I'm rather taken with the idea of a fangirl guild, lol. I'm sure it would be terribly annoying to more traditional gamers! :)
