lost
I've recently started watching it after never having got round to it before. I guess this is mainly for rozi and chris, just somewhere to dump ideas for wot I think is happening cos I'm too scared to google incase I read a spoiler.
I'm up to s2e18 'dave'. it's really freaking me out in parts, especially the Henry story. I kind of guessed he would be an 'other', but I was also surprised that when Sayid, Charlie and Anna-Lucia went looking for his balloon they didn't consider the possibility that he might have led them to somewhere where all the 'others' were, they could have been captured etc. Hurley's recent flashback was interesting, with the idea that it's all in his head. Libby pushed away that doubt but then wtf was she doing there in the psych ward too? I don't really believe (or want to believe) that this whole thing is in someone's head, I think that would be an overall lame explanation. I guess maybe this episode was created to address this possible issue, since it is a possibility, so the creators made this to deal with that. if that makes sense.
my favourite character is probably Locke. I wanna know how he became disabled. I enjoy his and Jack's flashbacks the most. Kate's were interesting but they got kinda boring. I really liked Charlie but he's become a bit weird. also, the episode about Claire recently, can't remember which one, was REALLY good. the past few have been the best so far, IMO. I also really like Sayid as a character, he's a good guy.
I guess the food package dropping shows that the Dharma people haven't forgotten about the island. I wonder about the button pressing. I'm not sure it does anything. like, Henry said he didn't actually press it, and then the blue lights revealed that drawing on the blast door where Locke was trapped. I think maybe the pressing of the button is just there to show the Dharma people, wherever they are in the real world, that someone is still there, so they need to keep sending food. I hope more is explained about that. oh and there seems to be a lot of these hatches all over the island, like the one where Claire was taken when she was drugged. I guess we'll find more.
there are still lots of other things to find out about too, like the polar bears (though I guess the Dharma Initiative explains them a little), the black horse, the black smoke, and these 'others'. and why they're after children. I think maybe they're after children because they're here permanently on this island, and children are easily brainwashed so they want them to develop and expand their population. I dunno. I also think more characters are gonna get killed off along the way, which is a shame cos I really like pretty much all the main ones at the minute. Some of the more minor ones like Rose, Bernard, Scott (or Steve? haha) aren't particularly useful to the plot, but I bet some main ones will be killed. Anna-Lucia still annoys me though she's getting better. I was actually really sad when Shannon died, I didn't like her to start with but she was really growing on me.
not sure what else to say at the minute. maybe I'll do another post like this when I finish season 2. I do wish I had watched it when it was released, so I could be reading up speculation and theories on the internets. I'm gonna listen to the podcasts Rozi linked me to and see what they're all about.
oh also, about how if Henry's really an other, then why didn't he run away when Locke freed him and was injured etc. I agree with what Jack said about how he thought his story was going to check out: there was a balloon and a grave, he just didn't expect them to dig it up. But if he'd run away, he probably would have got away, these others are meant to be good at not being found right? I dunno. I think something's gonna happen with him though... argh he really creeps me out!
some predictions: I guess Michael (and Walt?) come back at some point? I guess Sawyer turns 'good' (or does a really heroic/good deed) at some point. I guess Jin learns english so he can communicate better, though he may be a contender for being killed off. I bet there's some story when Sun is pregnant about her being captured by the others the same as Claire was? I bet there's a lot of injuries and fighting against the others. I bet something happens with Henry, maybe he escapes, or kills himself before he can tell them anything. I bet Kate gets it on with Jack and/or Sawyer (not like at the same time haha I mean I bet she does them both or something). I bet/hope Charlie and Claire become friends again. Hmm, guess that's all!
