If you are thinking of going somewhere for fun, I suggest Paris in the late 17th century? That was its beginning as an center for fashion thanks to Louis XIV. The 1850's marked the beginning of the fashion industry with the invention of the sewing machine so it may be an interesting era for you.
Oh, Paris in the 17th century! That's genius. Is it sad I haven't been there yet? Well... I mean, I only started time jumping recently, but I should've thought of that earlier. I took History of Fashion just a couple of years ago, too. Memory, you have failed me.
Versailles would be at it's height and a more popular a tourist attraction than Paris during that era so it's understandable. History of Fashion, I have yet to try reading up on that. That's something to add to my weekend reading list.
