Fleas are horrible! I hope they haven't infested your house; sometimes you have to 'bomb' the entire hose with insecticide to get rid of a bad infestation.

Glad the Frontline is working. At least pet owners have more tools to fight fleas these days than they used to. i wonder what's cause the fleas to be so bad in your area this year?

It's the weather. A lot of livestock are covered in lice too. Humid weather seems to bring these things out. We need heat to kill them off.

Best way to get rid of any left overs is to sprinkle a combination of one part salt and one part borax- laundry detergent- into the carpet. Use a broom to make sure it gets all the way down to the padding. Also, put moth balls in your vaccuum cleaner bag, under the beds and in the closets. We bomb our house and do that salt/borax combo here and it gets rid of all the fleas and eggs can't hatch so they die. I highly recommend it, its safe to use and will take care of the issue right away.

Hope that helps.

we've used Frontline for years, great stuff and probably the only stuff that REALLY works. Back in the day we had the collars or the baths, etc etc, but this stuff is dynamite.

Sorry to hear of your infestation! And glad you've found Frontline. I used Frontline on my first dog for most of his life without ill effects, and it worked well.

We also used it on the new dog until his annual checkup in January, when we all had a [slap forehead] DUH!!! moment. It suddenly dawned on the vet or her tech that the standard heartworm medicine the previous owners's vet had been prescribing and which our vet had continued to prescribe, contained beef broth. Our dog is allergic to meat and poultry. So, for the past year, we've been doing our best to keep him off scraps on the street, run interference with dog lovers who want to give him one of their meat/chicken-flavored biscuits, and so on... only to give him a dose of meat every month. No wonder his ears were constantly getting inflamed.

Fortunately, there is now a heartworm/flea/tick combo that's applied just like Frontline, so we'll be starting that next month. If heartwork is an issue Down Under, you might like the convenience of a single dose for all of it.

Errr...strange typo there: I meant "hearworm," not "heartwork." You strike me as one who is very strong of heart, a courageous sort -- surely no work needed there! [hugs]

Well, well, poor puppy! He's lucky he has caring owners who try to do all the right things.

I'm outside the heartworm/tick area here, luckily. My dog is a former racing dog, and was once in those areas, but she was treated in foster care and is now clear.

She did come to me with some interesting worms, though, but a dose of some new stuff (name forgotten!) cleared that up too.
