Bushfires

Jan 18, 2013 01:29

We were in trouble this morning, under an emergency impact situation. Since then, a wind change has driven the Heyfield-Glenmaggie fires back onto themselves, and into heavy bushland away from towns and farms. For the time being we are safe, and look to remain that way.

Thank the gods, Jilli. I have been worried about you two.

We are fine. 20 miles or so north, there were many homes lost, some livestock, and only one elderly man who panicked and tried to drive out when he should have stayed put. It could have been so much worse...a little smoke today, but nothing to worry about. Thanks for your concern.

Awww, poor you, I'll have Mum talk to the higher powers on your behalf. She's very good at that. Stay safe!
