Are still burning. If I stand on top of the hill on the farm (Claudia, you will know where I mean, right by the stockyards) and look north, to the Victorian Alps, I can see the plume of smoke rising, from a ridge back. It forms a V in the sky, slowly widening, dark grey to black, lit through with orange flashes from the 600 to 700 foot high flames
