Geekdoms Collide!

I suspect that this will make sense to very few people, but I'm having a sudden urge to create a power called 'Cataloger's Judgment' for my 4th Ed. D&D character.

Fear me, for I shall organize your chaos!

Ahem. Yes, I know. Too nerdy for words.

That would be a marvelous power! Let's see -- it would give you a bonus on recognizing and classifying both monsters and treasure, a bonus to charisma when assigning duties to party members, what else?

Worse. Cataloger.

Neither can I. You know the difference between an entomologist and an etymologist? The etymologist knows the difference.

And an ichthyologist can give you fish. Yes, it's random and unrelated. I just love writing (and saying) ichthyology. :)

Hmm... Cool background, but I think I'd whomp on my fellow player if she had a character who did that. But with only the two of us, we rarely have slack in our encounters to allow for wandering off in the midst of battle. :)

Really? Cool. When you start the class, would you object to sharing the syllabus? I'll be very interested to see what's being taught in a cataloging class these days, given the upheaval the field is going through right now.
