On Expensive Video Games and Shitty Movies

Oh my ever loving what the fuck. I stumbled across some very nice copies of .hack//Infection and .hack//Outbreak at a Gamestop a few nights ago, each with box art, manuals and .hack//Liminality and I was like FUCK YESSSSS because I'd sold the entirety of my .hack collection a few years back to pay the bills, and not without shedding a few tears, ( Read more... )

I still haven't played those Hack games. Must be good if you're looking for them. I'll keep my eyes open when I pass a gamestop this weekend.

As for Airbender... it could be done right, but it needs the right Writer/Director team. ShyamWow isn't it.

Ooh, I get to criticize The Last Airbender again! Being the chica who watched all three seasons obsessively, this is what I got out of it: I looked forward to seeing "The Last Airbender." I am a true Avatar fan, since the beginning of the series. I now know that my enthusiasm for the live-action movie was horribly misplaced. The acting was just terrible. The movie seemed so rushed--it skipped so much! A bunch of details critical to future episodes were missing. We did not meet Haru, Bumi, Bato, the Unagi, or even the cabbage merchant! We did not visit Kyoshi Island or Omashu. Pakku taught Katara regardless of her gender. There were no pirates--Katara stole no water scroll. The imprisoned Earthbenders weren't even put on a metal ship! They were secluded in an area of the Earth village. Katara didn't motivate them. There was no coal, no warden. They mispronouced "Sokka" and "Aang" and "Iroh." The outfits weren't even right. In my opinion, if cosplayers all over the world can get them spot-on, the LEAST that professional movie directors ( ... )
