I have definitely moved into a whole new league with my workouts. Yesterday, after work, I did 3 solid hours of cardio at the gym. 1 hour on the bike, 1 hour on the treadmill, and 1 hour rowing. Only stopping to switch machines after each hour ( Read more... )

oh man, you're intense. But you're right, tt is all in your head - I hit three miles and my brain goes, oops, you're done - and I have a really hard time pushing myself father than that.

a lot of people forget that just being alive and human burns calories. depending on your body size, how much blood you have, water, air, all of that stuff, along with muscle -- you could end up being someone who needs 2500 calories a day to keep your body the same.

:P Are you saying I could eat more chocolate? I'm sure I could do that if I wanted to maintain the weight I'm at. I sit all day at work so I probably don't burn that much during the day.

again it depends on your body size, muscle structure, and even if you're just sitting some people tap their feet or whatever. :)
breathing burns calories, as does eating, digesting -- every little thing you do with your body burns calories. talking does, using your brain does.
for a desk job, they say the activity level there can burn anywhere from 1200 to 1600 calories. the more muscle you have to maintain, the more you burn.
