It's the most wonderful time of the year

One of the most delightful things about teaching little girls and young ladies is that many of them are Girl Scouts. Which means I need to be supportive and buy Girl Scout cookies. And if I buy Thin Mints from one, I have to buy them from all of the Girl Scouts. It's only fair.

You're such a giver. Give. Give. Give. ;-)

I sure miss Girl Scout Cookies. Although right now while I'm trying to lose weight it's probably a good thing we don't have them here.

this time of year... reminds me of selling them just so I could get the patch. I demolished my two boxes already since they serve as both breakfast and lunch.

This made me smile!

The only time I ever won a prize for selling the most Girl Scout Cookies was the year my mom was the person who stored all the cookies for the troop. My family kept getting into them so my mom had to buy all the boxes we ate. No contest. I was the winner.

Yep, that's how it is for me with kids at church. Fortunately, only one girl has remained in Girl Scouts so it made it much easier for me--although we still somehow ended up with four boxes of cookies: thin mints, somosas, and the new cafe cookies (that are very easy to devour!)

The Girl Scout's mom also does the coffee orders for Equal Exchange (so we don't have to pay shipping) and that arrived yesterday as well! Coffee and cookies! Pretty darn close to heaven in my book!

oops, I meant somas not somosas--wasn't he a dictator in Central America in the 1980s?!

damn! I still can't get the spelling right on those cookies--I don't like them anyway but the Kevmeister does. Somoas! Wasn't there a punk band called "Angry Young Somoans" in the 1990s?!

I am sad that I don't know any Girl Scouts, or parents of Girl Scouts, right now... I looove Thin Mints and Samoas. But I am happy that I won't have to feel guilty for eating a whole box of cookies by myself.
