The Waiting Game

March 16- Where are the replies to my nursing school applications? I've been stalking allnurses.com and this has traditionally been the week that the letters start arriving for interviews. I am on the edge of my seat. I want to remember this feeling for when my kids are applying to schools and jobs. I feel like some of the people in my life are

I hear you! Bill's been waiting for an NIH grant reply that will determine whether he's funded this summer... and ultimately will decide whether we have to move again soon. He's gotten good comments and scores, but until he gets the actual letter, it's all up in the air.

I recommend plenty of juicy distractions and denial (not denial like "oh, I didn't get it," but denial like "I'm not going to look at my email again for the rest of the day," that type of thing). Maybe a trip over to that awesome garden store over near Lee's Summit (http://www.heartlandnursery.com/)? Even though I kinda sucked at it, I miss gardening. Sometimes I hate renting!

I hope Bill gets the grant. I am sending all my good energy out into the universe for us! I should get over there. It was 65F here today and I met Tara at Antioch Park, where the kids ran around like maniacs for hours and we soaked up some sun as we were chasing them around. It definitely made me feel like planning my Spring/Summer gardening stuff! Looks like we are not taking a real "vacation" this summer...the upside is that I'll be around to tend lots of green things. In fact I think that a trip to Heartland Nursery is just what the doctor ordered! Tomorrow. Thanks, K- you always know just what to say :)
