That's so exciting! I really liked Amsterdam too.... though I agree, the area really close to the train station is super sketchy and butts up onto the red-light district which is just... wierd. Real live women in the windows like merchandise... because they are ( ... )

When I was in Ireland, I was hanging out with these American guys, Joel Newton, Josh and Travis. Joel and I were standing in a park reading all the plaques saying what went on there. Josh and Travis were not reading anything. At one point, I was saying that they were making time getting through everything, and Joel said, "Yeah, but they don't know about all the people who died here!!" And it was true. And I liked knowing about all the people who died.

I am getting the travelling stillh20 July 15 2005, 04:53:35 UTC
BUG BAD!! After reading this I want to go on travels myself. It has been along time since I have been over seas. I admire that fact that you guys made this goal a year or so ago and are now experiencing the trills of it all. Friends of ours want to do the same thing before they have children and were amazed that you were able to figure out a way to make it work. Hopefully you have inspired them indirectly!
Have fun and thanks for keeping us updated!

Pancake Factory stillh20 July 16 2005, 05:20:09 UTC
I just saw on "$40 a Day" with Rachel Ray, the Pancake Factory in Amsterdam. I looked totally cool. They don't open until noon, so you can't get breakfast there. They do all sorts of funky pancakes and the pancakes look different then what we are used to. They look more like a huge ass omelet with batter instead of eggs.

Have fun! It is official, you have given us the travel to Europe bug. We just decided that we are kicking our Mexico vacation to the curb and will go to Europe next summer instead. Probably Prague, Germany, Spain or Italy. We can't wait to hear your opinions on everything.
