God, I thought this town was creepy with the drones, but somehow it's even worse without them. And this Christmas stuff... I think something's wrong with the town again.

Everyone, please, be careful. Last time something like this happened, the drones went insane and started killing people. I'm not sure

If you don't think they're human now, you should have seen them then. They were... totally berserk. Killing each other, themselves... If I hadn't seen them bleed, I'd be prepared to call them machines. Broken machines.

No, it happened at the same time as the housing shuffle. Not exactly convenient- we woke up in new houses every two hours, so we couldn't hole up or find a safe place. It's a miracle none of us were badly hurt.

I keep hearing about these "drones." What are they, exactly?

The drones are the other people here- the smiling idiots who think everything's normal and play into the town's... insanity. Some of them all look the same, some of them like Grady seem to be more intelligent, and some of them... used to be like us.

This is sounding all too familiar.

Wait, so... where we are, which I'm assuming isn't really America... do they come from here?

Mayfield is the town's name, but this definitely isn't the America of my world. Yeah... The other drones came from here. We think. There's still a lot we don't know, and they sure as hell aren't giving us any answers.

I had thought of that, too... just because we can't see them, they might still be around.

The way Grady's message just cut out like that makes me think they didn't plan this, but let's not rule out the possibility that they're just messing with us again.

The drones went nuts. It's like they just... broke. Started killing each other, themselves. Not a fun week, all told.

We had a few close calls, but as far as I know we all got out of that one okay.

Yeah, exactly like a machine. Whatever they are... they aren't human. I don't think they ever were.
