Moving Day

It still hasn't fully hit me that I'm MOVING today.

I'm moving from Savannah, a place I've never felt like home at. But here's the thing: now that I'm leaving, it's a little bittersweet. But the thing I'll miss most is...the food hahaha.

On Thursday, my last full day in Savannah, I went to District Cafe for lunch. I always forget how much I like that place, and I had a wonderful sandwich and bowl of soup. Then, for dinner, of course I chose Super Tastes and got my usual, which was wonderful as always. Yesterday, I got a coffee from Collin's Quarter and Thomas and I had dinner at Wasabi's, which was significant because we had our first date there. It was like the opening and closing of a chapter, and even though our service was kind of lousy, I know I'll never forget the feeling of a major part of my life both ending and beginning there last night.

Today is moving day. Officially. Thomas and I both accidentally woke up at 4:45 this morning and decided to get our day started early for no particular reason other than we didn't want to sit around. The breakfast place near my parents' house opens at 6, so we'll head over there plenty early and have a nice sit-down meal and then I'll get a coffee at the place by them, too.

It's going to be so weird after we get there and have to unpack. Looking around, I was absolutely shocked at how much stuff we both own. We have designated the office room as kind of the "storage room" for now but I've been quite good at not putting things in there that aren't essentially going to stay there. We moved some stuff in yesterday, which took a little while to accomplish. Lots of boxes. More today.

But Thomas is a homeowner. Can you believe it?? There was a clerical error that we need to fix because I was supposed to be on the deed as well but they didn't add me. So, we have to go back later and have them fix it for us. Not a huge deal, but he seemed worried and apologetic that I was left off.

Okay. Shower time. Time to get the day started. Hopefully in 12 hours, we'll be unloading the truck!!
