Don't laugh... I am officially giving up alcohol until Uni, a decision brought on by the fact that my kidneys hurt every time I drink. I figure this to be a Bad Sign ( Read more... )

But surely it would be your liver that hurts when you drink rather than your kidneys? The liver is the thing that filters out the toxins 'n shit, the kidneys just filter water

i can vouch for the kidney, after a proper bender, the next day you'll have back pain, that is your kidneys, it feels like someone has punched you. bastard organs, y cant they jst piss off

Surely this is more to do with the amount of alcohol rather than just the alcohol...?!?But then again, look who you're talking to. My arm still smells of rum from spilling it over myself yesterday.

Good on ya, kid. Word of warning though, be careful what you start with and how much you start with when you start drinking again. My mum went on a detox thing so didn't have any alcohol for about two months or so and now she feels sick if she just has like one glass of red wine.
