Right. I turn my head, see the book next to me, turn to page 206, and read:

"Ipse is used to intensify the word it modifies or stands for."

My closest book is Skiena's Algorithm Desgin Manual.

"This multiplicity of paths hints at why finding the *shortest path* between two nodes is important and instructive, even in nontransportation applications."

There is no book within reach. All books are on the shelf behind me are equally close. They consist of tech books I edited, books about playing with yarn, and I think Kay Thompson's Eloise books are also in there somewhere.
