When some people have bad dreams, they wake up screaming or tense.  I apparently wake up moody and nearly crying.  Go figure.

I can end up either way, depending on what the dream was about. It sucks, though. :( Sometimes it takes the rest of the day for the feeling to fade completely. I hope you feel better sooner than that, though. :(

I think I have it mostly sorted out. I noticed myself starting to cry a little after being up about an hour, so I dumped some caffeine in my system and had a good, loud, shaking sob session. I sent out an SOS to a friend via text message and talking about things really helped. The feeling still comes and goes now and then, but it's not as bad and I can manage it.

I remember when I'd intentionally stay up for days at a time or bomb sleeping pills because my only "normal" options were wicked insomnia coupled with recurring nightmares. Hope you're feeling better.

I've done that. Depends on the nightmare sometimes, though. There's the ones where you wake up horrified and don't want to go back to bed for days, and the ones you wake up moody and upset. And then there's the ones that leave you all WTF?! Feel better. Stop doing that. *joke* ;P
