I'm a little disheartened. About two weeks ago, I re-tore my medial meniscus, and the most damning part is that it wasn't in an area of avid activity (though I've been trying to lose weight for awhile now). Being injured like this freaks me out and is part of the reason I seriously started working out, eating right, etc. I couldn't imagine hurting a knee or my back in some way and having it be a chronic issue all my life. I hope theres something that can be done. I know a girl who loves running and is having some pretty serious knee issues and its driving her absolutely insane :(

The worst part is I did the original injury in 2005. I re-injured a different part in 2010, and that's the part I've messed up now. I changed all my habits to avoid making the situation worse.

But, you have to understand to some extent that the injury itself is temporary. It just happens. There's nothing you can do to change it besides focusing on healing, and it's easy to be restless, or feel depressed.

It pays so much to stretch, have a spotter, and just generally being safe while being active. I don't run usually when I work out, just use a low resistance bike because of my knee, but even that you have to be careful with.
