Jim didn't notice the problem at first. Things seemed normal as he woke up and he felt the usual warm body sleeping next to him. Pam only woke up when she heard Jim talking to himself, but she didn't completely wake up. Instead, she shifted onto her other side and tried to snuggle closer, only to find that he wasn't laying down anymore.

"Jim?" she mumbled sleepily, not even opening her eyes. "Go back to sleep.. Too early. Please."

She wasn't going to be tired anymore once she realized what had happened. Instead of lying down (even though he kind of did want to hide under the covers until what was going on was all over), he shook her gently.

"Pam, there's - uh. There's something you really need to see," he explained. "Wake up, come on."

The last sentence was kind of whiny, and, yet again, his voice cracked up a little. It was going to be a long, long weekend.

Pam blinked up at him blearily and sighed heavily. "What, Jim? I'm really tired. I didn't sleep very well last night," she complained, pushing herself up into a sitting position and rubbing her fists against her eyes.

"Why are you talking like that?" She finally pulled her hands away from her eyes and stared at him.

"Uhhh... Jim?"

He could see she figured out what was going on, not that it was hard to see. He scratched the back of his neck, trying not to freak out.

"Yeah, it's me," he replied, looking down at himself again. He sighed loudly. "Or, this was me, anyway, I'm guessing...about thirteen or so years ago. I hate this island so much sometimes."
