Jim hadn't planned to bump into Pam on the way back from Karen's hut, but he certainly didn't mind. He'd had plans to do a couple of things, but decided instead to hang out with her for a while. They had plenty of time, of course, before Karen would be back ( Read more... )

"Oh, you're asking for it," she said, bouncing a little on the balls of her feet before she threw the second snowball, this time with far more accurate aim, already in full battle mode. As soon as she was sure of the hit, she took off, staggering a little in her boots but quickly making it to the side of his hut, where she could begin gathering another snowball with at least a little protection.

Jim was hit pretty squarely in the stomach the second time, and he retreated himself, hiding behind a nearby tree. It wasn't the best, but it'd do.

"You can give up too, you know," he called out, making sure he was ducked behind the tree properly. "I'd take it easy on you, I promise."
